Someone decided to carve out a Jack O' Latern on this redwood trunk shell.
Good thing it was daylight or we would've been spooked!

The big tree of the park.  Can't tell how big it is?  Look at the next couple of pictures...

Hugging the tree... silly?  Nah, we love it!

Thien Nhien (blue fleece) being overly stretched by Thang (with backpack) to the left and Chi to the right (only the hand is showing).

Four of us barely wrapped 1/4 of the tree: Thien-Nhien, Chi, Chris, and Paul (left-right).

And the other side of the tree - more people!  Now do you see how big it is??
Ken (beige sweatshirt), ThuHuong, Song, Denise, Loann, and Khanh (white sweathshirt) from left to right).

Crossing Aptos creek during hike #1.  No one fell into the water hehe!

14 minus 1 (Thang) of the group on the other side of the creek.
Denise, Thien-Nhien, Loann, ThuHuong,Ken, Hoa, Chris, Song, Khanh, Chi, Paul, Khanh, and Greg.

Loann having a good time, but where's Toonie??

Everyone encouraging the stragglers crossing the creek via a fallen log about 5 ft above the creek.
What lovely fall colors.  Here you can see maple branches above and giant horsetail (stick-like stalks) on the ground.
