April 10, 2004 - Golden Gate National Recreation Area The Golden Gate National Recreation Area spans both sides of the Golden Gate Bridge. These photos were taken in the southern side of the bridge, by the Palace of the Legion of Honors. It is at the outer edge of the Outer Richmond District, just north of the Cliff House. Here you'll hear a mixture of sounds, from golfers shouting "Fore!" to birds chirping to several fog horns blaring at regular intervals. There are lots of flowers here, not sure how many are native and how many introduced. Not that many people walk these trails here, which makes it even nicer. -Paul [Return to Photography Archives]
