This was a 22-mile day-hike
in Big Basin State Park. I started at Waddell Beach (0 ft), by Rt
1, hiked to park headquarters via Skyline To The Sea Trail, while stopping
at Berry Creek Falls (400 ft) briefly. Then from park headquarters
(1,000 ft), I took Hihn Hammond Raod, passed Mt. McAbee Overlook (1,730
ft), then McCrary Ridge Trail, and finally Skylinie To the Sea Trail again
back to Waddell Beach. The total hike took about 8.5 hours, including
the lunch break at the headquarters.
I saw millipedes, butterflies, and other nature-life on the trails, as you'll see in the pictures. The McCrary Ridge Trail was open-spaced while the rest of the trails were very shady. Enjoy the pictures! -ph |
