Boston is a college town.  In a 30-mile radius, there are over 250 schools, including Harvard, MIT, Tufts, Boston University, Emerson, Boston College, UMass, Northeastern, Wellsley, and many others.  A few pictures of MIT are shown here, followed by some pictures of the Boston subways.

Riverfront - the Esplanad, designed for joggers, bikers, rollerbladers, etc.

Harvard bridge. MIT building next to river.

On Harvard bridge, there are markings such as "150 Smoots" and "364.4 Smoots + 1 Ear", can you figure out what they mean?

MIT main building.

MIT performance theatre (left) and student center (right) lined with bikes.

MIT class project display (mechanical engineering, undergrad).

Overall subway map - each line is designated a color: Green, Blue, Orange, and Red.
Each line's trains are clearly colored as shown below.
The Green line splits into several branches indicated by letters A, B, C, D, etc.

This is a map for the Green line, D-branch to Riverside (Newton).
