On Sunday, February 24, 10 pairs of human feet and 4 pairs of canine feet paced the trails of Anthony Chabot Park in the East Bay.  Nestled in the Oakland hills/Piedmont area, this park boasts a surprisingly moist habitat that supports the great redwoods.  It was a sunny day but shady and cool in the forest.  A couple of friends joined the hike for the first time:  Nami and Woo, welcome!   The other hikers were:  Loann & Tai & Toonie, Denise and Tootsie, Khanh, Tuan, ThuHuong, Lola, and Paul.  We hiked a relatively easy 5 miles or so.  One one part of the hike, the trail opened up to some very nice views of the San Francisco Bay.  After the hike, we went to Oakland chinatown to have lunch and then headed down to Pleasanton for the Children's Benefit Concert.  The concert was quite a treat as traditional Vietnamese instruments and songs were played in addition to classical and jazz.  Quite a nice way to end the day!

Starting off on the hike.  Tootsie (white) and Toonie (black/brown) sometimes lead, sometimes stay behind.

Group picture, some of us are looking at the doggies who were too short to be taken in the picture. But not to worry, they get their own pictures below!

A gorgeous view of the bay.

Tootsie and Toonie being the lovable animals that they are.

A major trail follows this creek.  Loan and Tai looks on!
