Berry Creek Falls, as seen from a few hundred feet away.

Next to the platform that allows visitors to view Berry Creek Falls is a giant redwood as shown above.  The bottom inside of the tree has been hollowed out by fires as you can see in the picture on the right.  The hollow space is so large that we could walk in and climb downwards among the roots of the tree to one of two openings.

The two pictures above were taken INSIDE the redwood tree.  On the left, Jenny leans against the burls of the tree, partially charcoaled.  On the right, Katie and Roger kneel on the roots of the tree.  I'm taking the picture from deep within the base of the root cavity.

Roger emerging from inside the tree cavity, through one of the openings mentioned above.

Katie and Jenny marveling at the majestic waterfall, which is about 60' tall.

Roger, Katie, and Jenny.

Careful with the slippery rocks!  Katie and Jenny crossing the creek just downstream from the waterfall.
