Driving to Point Reyes: (left) Richmond bridge - still covered in fog,
(right) On Sir Francis Drake Blvd heading west, sunny and great visibility of the countryside.

There are several visitor centers at Point Reyes.  We went to the Beary Valley visitor center (left).
As many of the trails allow horses, many people bring their horses to the park (right).

The group starting the hike on Bear Valley Trail (left).
Within 1/4 mile, we turned onto Mt. Wittenberg trail (right) for a 2 mile hike up to the summit.

(left) Turkey Vulture, (right) Mouse

A Western Harvest Mouse or Deer Mouse.  It was just crouching in a shallow crater on the side of the trail.  We all had a great look at it.  Its body was about 3 inches long as was its tail.  The guide book indicates that these mice are noctural, which may help explain why it didn't move when we approached it.

(left) not sure what this is named.... (right) California Poppy.
