September 23, 2001: Purisima/Pescadero

10 people came on this beautiful 7-mile loop.  A few first-timers came and all handled the hike beautifully!  We did this hike about two months prior and it has become a favorite for many.  Despite the 1,400 ft climb, few complaints were voiced as nature itself comforted the souls of the hikers.  We stopped at the circle of trees and rested within, catching glimpses of what another era must've felt like.  The weather was perfect yet again as we hiked through fog at the bottom and emerged in bright sunshine at the top.  After the hike, we again drove along Rt 1 down to Pescadero beach and had our lunch there.  Many wandered and ate some more in the town of Half Moon Bay afterwards.  See pictures from the previous hike, leave or read a comment.

Group picture at rest stop, i.e. top of the world! That's fog covering the valley in the back.

Picnicing at Pescadero beach.

We saw sea lions, pelicans, and others searched for mussels and other tidepool wildlife.
